Middle East Corner

In the middle of visiting the new Mall in Saar, we found this interesting corner of an Arab relaxing spot.

The bench with the fabric roof are their authenticity. The patterns are actually very beautiful!

One, Two, Three, Move!

Look around everywhere you turn is heartache
It’s everywhere that you go (look around)
You try everything you can to escape
The pain of life that you know (life that you know)

When all else fails and you long to be
Something better than you are today
I know a place where you can get away
It’s called a dance floor, and here’s what it’s for!

That song of Madonna had been in my head since last week. I played that epic song which was released in my birthyear. A song about enjoying oneself on the dance floor no matter who one is, and it contains a theme of escapism.

All you need is your own imagination
So use it that’s what it’s for (that’s what it’s for)
Go inside, for your finest inspiration
Your dreams will open the door (open up the door)

It makes no difference if you’re black or white
If you’re a boy or a girl
If the music’s pumping it will give you new life
You’re a superstar, yes, that’s what you are, you know it

In front of the iconic building of Bahrain, the song was possessing me in a way that you I just felt that the song was composed for me.

Strike a pose
Strike a pose
Vogue, vogue, vogue
Vogue, vogue, vogue

Manama’s evening traffic, 787 ft high building, and the most expensive shopping district in the Kingdom. There was no dance floor, there was no music.

Come on, vogue
Let your body move to the music (move to the music)
Hey, hey, hey
Come on, vogue
Let your body go with the flow (go with the flow)
You know you can do it!

But I couldn’t handle to not to move to the music. Music of the life!

F

I can’t believe it’s exactly 2 years since my last update, which happened to be my first update in this blog. Yeah, call me lazy! It was not that I lost my interest in writing, it was just that lame excuse that everyone tells when you promise to do something but you just don’t do it: I was busy. Lame, told ya!

Well, maybe I was not that busy though. I still wrote my thought on some social medias, facebook, twitter, path, I mean if you follow me then you know I wasn’t lying. I really wrote, didn’t I? It’s just doing a blog is so much more complicated! You know, you need to open your computer, and log in and go to some tabs and writings and you have to write long enough because it won’t look so good if it is too short and so on and so forth bla bla bla whatever! I was thinking WHY DID IT NEED TO BE COMPLICATED TO JUST SHARE MY THOUGHT! It was also I didn’t use a high-tech cell phone or computer pad to make my mobility easier though. Another excuse.

And then boo on me!

Anyways, I didn’t stop blogwalking for the past 2 years though! I followed some cool blogs that make me envy even more and questioned myself: why can’t I be as awesome as they are?! Some of these awesome people are a brilliant writer with a damn good stories, some are extremely attractive so that everything on them will look just fine, some got a gifted hand that everything they cook will get your appetite on the highest level, or some are just highly adventurous-and coincidentally rich-to travel to cool places around the globe.

But so I re-asked myself: What can I offer to my fellow reader? What can I do to keep them come checking back to new posts?

What is that Feby? What is that Feb? What the F is that, F?!

Wait…

Let’s have a pause for a second over there. I am Feby, a big mouth high confident bold aggressive fun loving boy who got attitudes and stories to tell everyone. Let’s a take a look for few more seconds.

If Feby is not my name, what F could I be?

Fabulous. Fascinating. Fantastic. Fearless. Fierce. Famous. Faithful. Fancy. Favourite. Fine. Flamboyant. Formidable. Fortunate. Freak. Free. Fresh. Friendly. Frightening. Funny. Futuristic.

Well, that’s a lot!

But then it made me pop out with this idea, that combine some experience and passion I have all this time. This might not be new because there are dozens of people doing this same project out there, but at least this would be interesting than posting a random things on my blog, moreover I have some experience in this fields that I want to focus on which is in line with the “F” personalities in me like these:

  • I am currently doing Marketing & PR for a group of Fine Dining Restaurant in a city where more than one thousand restaurants exist. Yes baby, I am in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain’s capital. I have been living and working in the Gulf for nearly 10 months and found tons of interesting stuffs to share here, especially FOOD, the field that I am working on now. Believe me, the foods here are just adorably amazing both taste and looks! We all love food but as like me, most of you are unfortunately not a famous Chef like Gordon Ramsay, have our own food reality show, or have enough money to eat in fancy restaurant like a socialite. The food that I will share here will be more personal, more affordable and real that most of us can actually afford. And don’t forget the fact that I am a Pescatarian. No meat allowed and you will just love it!

  • Eventough for just a short time, some people know that I was working as a Deputy Manager for one of the World’s biggest Spanish FASHION retails in Jakarta. Eventough fashion has been my interest since I was a kid, working in its actual industry kinda gave me the big picture of the fashion world itself. Many people are interested in fashion but much more people are insecure about their interests themselves. They think they are too big, too short, too poor, or any other thing that against the stereotype that people needs to be skinny, tall and wear designer brands clothes to represent fashion itself which are all wrong! Here, we will just fashion from different point of view, to see it more ‘human’. Of course sometimes we need some guilty pleasures to see what does the latest Chanel campaign look like, the newest Victoria’s Secret models, or what is trending for Gucci next season, which is also not wrong that you spend thousands of many if you actually have them. But here, it will just be less about the product but focus more on bigger picture of how fashion as the way to appreciate yourselves and people around you.

  • Back there when I was younger, I was actively involved in some activities and social organizations that got me opportunities to travel to some cool places in Indonesia. Year by year I grew older with more experiences, skills, and knowledge, I was chosen to represent Indonesia as a delegate for a 6 months program with Canada World Youth. That was such a FUN time back there for me to both be changemaker and travel to places. That was definitely not the last time I do the same thing. Especially when I am now also live in a foreign country. The third F which is Fun will explore how beauty the World with its people is and how can we make it even more beautiful, in a fun way!

So by answering my own question of what F will I be if I am not Feby; Food, Fashion, and Fun would be the answer.

Together, we will see my very own journey through my keyboards that I type with my fingers and your screen.

This is the re-born of this blog and we will see Food, Fashion, and Fun in Feby‘s way.

I know you can’t wait. But I can’t wait so much more.
